The Friends of the Bullskin works to protect, restore and enhance the Bullskin Run and the North Fork of the Bullskin (collectively, “The Bullskin”) to the fullest means possible, by educating and engaging multiple stakeholders to ensure this historic resource’s availability for current future generations of farmers, landowners, residents, fisherman, students, teachers, commercial and industrial users.
The Bullskin Run has been and is an integral resource to the past, to the present and to the future of Jefferson County.
Through assessing and creating a knowledge base of information, and forming a voluntary non-profit “Friends of the Bullskin Watershed”, the FOBW will empower Bullskin residents to join in voluntary best management practices to control non-point sources to reduce TMDL. Working towards a state and federally approved water quality monitoring program, the Friends of the Bullskin can measure their success and assist the County and the WVDEP in meeting mandated TMDL reductions.
Help us make a difference! We invite you to support the preservation and heritage of this unique natural resource by becoming a member of the Friends of the Bullskin.
